Peliatan Ubud Kite Festival #4, Sept. 2022.
Ubud Kite Festival was held for the 4th time in what in some countries is called the mid autumn weekend. Over two days more than 700 kites competed in heats of 15 - 20 minutes with alternating Bebeans, Janggans Buntuts, Pecukans and Janggans, the first two hours assigned for youngsters under 17 years old.
A kite competition in Bali is always very intense with EmCees constantly commenting on the flights and listing all the participating kites’ competition number before the next heat, but luckily there is a ”Three minute silence” at the end of each heat to let everyone enjoy the harmonious sound of the guangs; the two sound bows that every kite is fitted with.
